The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) licenses and regulates Texas real estate service providers.  TREC also oversees appraisal and inspection providers with its division called the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (TALCB).

Texas law requires all agents and brokers to provide a written notice regarding information about brokerage services at the first formal communication with a prospective client. The Information About Brokerage Services is required to help ensure that our clients have a better understanding of how a broker or agent can represent them and where to find help if they need it.
